This series is one of my favorites, and became even more of a favorite when I reread it earlier. The Grisha Trilogy also has a spin-off duology that I am in the process of reading. Read on to find out more!

I am, of course, talking about the Grisha Trilogy (and Six of Crows). Grisha is one of those books that, in my mind, absolutely lives up to the hype. Intriguing characters, including one of my favorite villains in modern lit, and a magical system in conflict with a modern era.

The Grisha are the magical peoples within Ravka, and just like in Lexie, there are several types of magic. Magic that works with metals, magic that can change the face of a person, magic that can rip a person’s heart out. And, Alina our MC, is the Sun Summoner, or a Grisha who can summon light. She’s super!rare and super!not interested in being special. In fact, one of the things I like most about her is that it’s not just about her–it’s about her and the team.

The magical system in this book is one of my favorites because it’s woven into the story, and we get hints of more, but since it’s not germane to the plot, we don’t see it. That’s why I’m excited to read Six of Crows to see more of this amazing world and have more fun in it.

If you haven’t picked up this trilogy, I’d highly recommend it!
