Hey y’all, it’s been a while! I’ve been too busy depositing words into actual books to stop and put words into this blog. My B.
Anywho, I thought it was high time that I share with you guys some decisions I’ve made for 2019. Some will make you cheer, some will make you bummed. But most importantly, they’ll all take a weight off my chest. So let’s start with it:
The Good News
I’ve pushed up the release date of the second Princess Vigilante book! Instead of September 2019, I’m shooting for mid-to-late July. It’ll be about 90 days after the first one comes out, so I can capture those sweet Kindle preorders. And, even better, I should be able to write and finish the final book in the series and have that out to you guys in mid-to-late October! That means you’ll get Brynna’s story, start-to-finish, in 2019!
The Bad News
How am I able to do all this magnificent shifting, especially when there’s a Ragen Teon (aka Razia aka Lyssa and Sage’s daughter) book stuck in there? Well…. There ain’t gonna be a Ragen Teon book. Y’all, I hate to do this, and I’ve never done this before, but as my 🦀s Amanda and Kaylyn (authors TS Barnett and Michelle Kay respectively) put it last night at our fancy author dinner, I’m just not in the right headspace.
See, Brynna’s existential crises are all about “I have killed a man, I’m repenting, and I may have to kill more people for the greater good”
Ragen’s are basically, “My mom’s being mean and won’t let me bounty hunt.”
By themselves, definitely not bad concepts. Ragen/Razia are much lighter books and there’s a place for lighter books. As I said, I’m just not in the headspace, not after trudging through the proverbial desert with Brynna in Book 2. I need to finish this journey with her before I can see the sunlight.
This, of course, means that I won’t have anything new to share with you guys on my bday and the fifth anniversary of Double Life’s release and the beginning of my writing career. You guys know I’m a stickler for perfect things fitting in perfect boxes, so this one really grates on my persnicketyness. But I just can’t do it.
The In-Between News
I’m going to be taking off my annual week at Christmas, so hopefully you guys won’t see a lot of me. My goal now that I’ve put Ragen aside is to finish this read-through of Veil of Ashes (second Princess Vigilante book), maybe knock out some of the lesser edits, and prepare myself for a revision-heavy January. From what I’ve read so far, this book is going to be an adventure, and an apt companion to the first book.
Speaking of January, the final Lexie Carrigan book comes out on the 22nd, and City of Veils comes up for preorder on Kindle around that same time. It’s already up about everywhere else, so if you’re not a kindle reader, be sure to get those preorders in.
Anywho, this should be my last post until the new year, so thanks everyone for all the support, whether it’s reading, commenting, sharing, or just lurking. I’m thankful to every single one of you, and I hope we all have a magnificent 2019!
